Standard Operating Procedures

The Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is the charter for the operation. The SOP sets out the employee's responsibilities and (decision-making) powers.

An SOP consists of at least the following components:

  • Security goals

  • Modus operandi

  • Responsibilities

  • The norm and suspicious indicators

  • Classifications

  • Threat assessment

  • Handling protocols
